Dr. Ehrensberger's research interest encompass the areas of orthopedic biomaterials and biomechanics. Specific topics include electrochemical methods for infection control and enhanced osseointegration of orthopedic implants, electrochemical characterization of established and next generation metallic orthopedic biomaterials, implant corrosion mechanisms, mechanical assessment of bone and soft tissue repairs commonly utilized in orthopedics, and development of novel test methods and instrumentation.
